Ingredients

  • 1 rack baby back ribs
  • 1/3 cup barbecue sauce, to taste I used Sweet Baby Ray's

BBQ dry rub

  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp chili powder
  • 1 Tbsp paprika can use smoked, regular, or combination
  • 1-2 tsp salt to taste
  • 2 tsp dry mustard
  • 2 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp pepper

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 300° F. Mix dry rub ingredients, feel free to adjust amounts to suit your tastes. Set aside.
  • Trim ribs if needed. Apply dry rub to both sides. I spoon it on and spread with a separate utensil. That way, if there is extra rub, I can save it for the next time, since it is not contaminated from the raw meat.
  • Place foil in large baking pan or cookie sheet. Place ribs meat side down into foil and wrap tightly.
  • Bake in oven for 2 1/2 hours. Check for doneness by sticking a fork between ribs. They should come apart somewhat easily.
  • Apply barbecue sauce to one or both sides, as desired. Return to oven for about 10 minutes, uncovered.
  • Remove from oven and enjoy!
