Blackened Tilapia

This recipe is so easy, yet is packed full of flavor! We make this at least once a month, and it is one of my favorite recipes. It could also be easily adapted to many different types of fish or even chicken!

Blackened Tilapia

A delicious yet easy recipe to add fish to your diet.

Ingredients
  

  • 4 six ounce tilapia fillets
  • 1-2 tbsp olive oil for cooking

For the rub

  • 2 tsp paprika or smoked paprika, if you prefer
  • 2 tsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp cumin
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne powder
  • 1 tsp salt

Instructions
 

  • Combine the dry ingredients in a small bowl. Spread the spice rub evenly over both sides of the tilapia.
  • Heat olive oil over medium heat in a large non-stick pan. Add the fillets and cook for 3-5 minutes on each side until golden brown and flaky. Remove from heat and serve immediately.
